 A national company that provides outsourced building services for property management firms, facility managers, and building owners in commercial, institutional, and industrial markets in the United States

Project Goals

The company had grown substantially based on rapid acquisition of smaller maintenance, building service, and janitorial companies. There was a desire to ensure that the information technology organization, application portfolio and supporting technical infrastructure would adequately support the company’s growth oriented business plans.

• What costs and timelines should the business plan for in relation to information technology to support the growing business

Deliverables

This project produced the following:

• An application portfolio assessment based on business needs, IT capabilities, and costs
• A technical infrastructure and operations assessment including an outsource vs. insource analysis
• An information technology organization assessment
• An overall vision for information technology covering both central and field offices with an associated implantation strategy that included estimated costs, resource requirements, and a timeline

Results

• An inventory of “quick fixes” that the company implemented immediately resulting in significant cost savings
• Company used the results of this project to prioritize planned information technology expenditures on a go-forward basis
