Design and Implement SDWAN and Cloud Based LAN

Client

One of the largest U.S. law firms representing management in the areas of labor, employment, civil rights, employee benefits, and immigration law. The firm has a national presence with 33 offices and more than 800 people.

Project Goals

The firm wanted to replace its aging and expensive network infrastructure with one that was easier to manage and would support its migration to cloud based applications. Specifically:

• Replace the existing MPLS Wide Area Network (WAN) with a new SDWAN based in less expensive and faster broadband connections
• Replace the local office switch and wireless networks with a cloud managed solution
• Reduce network costs
• Increase network reliability

Deliverables

The project delivered:

• A new fault tolerant SDWAN that provided two (2) land-based broadband connections with a tertiary cellular backup
• Cloud managed stacked switches that were easy to remotely manage
• A fault tolerant wireless network in each office supporting both private and public access

Results

• The new network was designed, tested, and implemented in nine (9) months from start of requirements gathering
• Estimated savings of over $750K per year were achieved
• Bandwidths were increased from an average of .68 Mbps/user to over 3 Mbps/user
• The need for onsite IT network support was greatly reduced
